Soooooo it's been awhile since we posted anything last. Our summer has really been busy. Ethan did GREAT at Teeball and is now in soccer for Miami East. He is now swimming without any help and even jumps in the deep end with arm floats on. A huge improvement in such a short time. Alek is our little ham. He has a temper that can drive anyone crazy yet can be overly sweet and loving which makes you want to hug and kiss on him forever. He too has taken to the pool this year and may be swimming by the end of the season if he'd just let us put a float on him or let us stick him in a life jacket. TALK ABOUT INDEPENDENT!!!!!! I will post pictures once I have them downloaded so that you can see how big our heethens are getting. Til next time, (hopefully not another 3 mos.)

Kindergarten already!???!!
Well we took Ethan for his Kindergarten assessment yesterday.
First off I can't believe that it is already time for that! I mean seriously where have the past five years gone?
He did great! As for me, I'm not so sure! I was talking with another parent and we were laughing at our selves and a tear squeaked out of my eye! I mean seriously, how ridiculous is that! So we just kept laughing and crying all at the same time (thanks Heather for being there doing the same thing with me)!
But the best part of it all was that once they were finished, Erik and I were asking Ethan what they asked him to do. And of course, Ethan being himself, replied "I don't know mom, just a bunch of junk." So to all of you Kindergarten parents out there apparently the Kindergarten assessment is nothing but a "bunch of junk," according to a five year old.
I am so excited yet sad all at the same time. Only a couple of months and our baby will be starting Kindergarten!

Old New Stuff
Well a lot has happened since we posted last...and yes we know we are probably the worst bloggers ever! But the trip to Disney World with the boys was truly "Magical" and we are going back! As for the running thing, well I finished and wasn't picked up by the sag waggon!
The next 6 weeks should prove to be interesting though. I just signed up for the Warrior Dash in Chicago. I figured that I needed another goal to work towards since I was in the vacation depression (for oh so long) after we got back. And I think a little more self torture out on the trail is just what the doc ordered! So wish us well and hopefully one of us will remember to post a little more often!

Well once again I think we have fallen off the Blogger band wagon. OOPS I guess in the grand scheme of things life gets in the way sometimes and that's not all that bad. This having two kids thing is not as easy as I had originally thought. Yea i knew we were revisiting the demands of a new baby and all but just simple little things like getting out of the house...which by the way IS the greatest feat known to man...seems almost impossible.
As for the family we are doing relatively well with me going back to work. We are all just trying to adjust to "normal" life again. By the way when is it that you are supposed to feel "normal" again. And what exactally is it???
On top of that stress, we are now dealing with the decisions to help take care of an aging, ill parent. You always heard stories on the news and articles in the paper about baby boomers trying to take care of children and aging parents and being squeezed in the middle. However, never did i think Erik and I (who are gen x'ers) would enter that realm of our lives at the tender age of 30! Talk about feeling old!!!
As if it's not bad enough to try and deal with all of the everyday stresses you also have to wander who the person living in your body is...I'm not sure i recognize her anymore! I don't mean to sound selfish but it just seems like a lot to deal with right now. And the terribly scary thing is that it's just beginning! Yowzers!!!
Don't get me wrong I know that things will settle down a little (hopefully soon) but man when it rains it pours. I think i heard once that God will never give us more than he knows we can handle but sometimes i think....."OK, God enough already!" I guess we will just deal with life like it is given to us..one day at a time and trust that the good Lord knows what He's doing and with our faith in Him, He will get us through.
Have a wonderful stress free week and God Bless :-)

Just another great day!
Well today has been a relatively good day. Ethan was invited to go to Jumpy's, which is a place with all of those inflatable giant slides and stuff, and to lunch with some of his buddies from school. He had a ball!!! It is so absolutely amazing seeing him in action with all of his little peers.
The only thing that I got worried about was when we went to leave from lunch he went to give Kayla (one of the girls from his class) a kiss, on the lips!!!! I snickered as I turned and caught them and he backed away and decided to give her a kiss on the cheek instead. It had to be one of the cutest moments that I have witnessed yet. So watch out world you have a little heart breaker coming full steam ahead!!
We then played outside for a little while after we got home because it's supposed to rain again...imagine that, and we thought we should take advantage of the sunshine while we could. He then made a wonderful discovery and wanted me to take his picture with his brother and his precious flower that he found...it was none other than a dandelion.
I find it so amazing to see the world through the eyes of a four year old. He got so excited when he found his beautiful "flower" and asked me what kind it was. I replied that it was a dandelion and that usually we pull those out of the flower beds because they are weeds. Ignoring my comment, he then proceeded to pick it and bring it to me and we just had to go in the house to place it in water so that we could enjoy it inside too. "Look mommy, it's so pretty" he proclaimed. Wouldn't it be nice if we, as adults, decided to step back and just look at the beauty of things once and a while just like a four year old.
I know I'm verging on the brinks of cheesiness but it is so true!!! Well I hope everyone has a great day and I hope you enjoy the posts! :)

Sorry
OK...so to all of our loyal fans, aka friends, I apologize. Erik has gotten a little behind on the blogging. OK, well more than a little behind! So i have now decided to try my go at it. So please be patient as i am learning.
Well things haven't been too terrible in the past 7 weeks with a new baby. We are all still adjusting to everything but for the most part we are all adjusted!!! Except for that lack of sleep thing!
Today I think Erik almost cried...Ethan got home from playing with Reaghan (his cousin) and Erik wanted to fly kites, since the weather is gorgeous, and Ethan told him no b/c his "friends were outside playing." So Erik was stood up by a 4 year old. And Ethan went across the street to the neighbors house to play with the kids. I guess our little guy is growing up! But don't worry Erik he's still your little buddy!
